Minecraft Movie Build Challenge: Build What Will Hit the Big Screen!

Minecraft Movie Build Challenge: Build What Will Hit the Big Screen!
Have you ever dreamed of having your Minecraft creation admired by millions of people around the world? Now you have a unique chance! The Mojang team and the creators of the upcoming movie have prepared something special — the Minecraft Movie Build Challenge. The winner of this incredible contest will see their build on the big cinema screen!
Time is very short (submissions are open only until June 7, 2026), so we've put together a quick summary of how to enter the challenge, what the rules are, and how to best prepare your project (ideally on a reliable server from IceHost.pl!).
What Is the Minecraft Movie Build Challenge?
This is an official contest in which players from around the world (aged 16 and over) who own Minecraft Bedrock Edition can submit their unique builds. The goal is to design a structure that visually fits into the world of the Minecraft movie. If your project wins, it will be incorporated into the film — for example, during the main action as the camera pans by it, or in the end credits.
Contest Rules – What You Need to Know Before You Start
Since the build has a chance to appear in a major motion picture, Mojang has prepared very specific guidelines. Before you place your first block, make sure you're familiar with the restrictions:
- Dimensions: Your build must fit within a 16x16x32 block space. No building underground!
- Allowed blocks: The list is limited to basic palettes and specific biomes (Frozen Ocean, Taiga, Plains, Badlands, and general blocks such as stone, wood, and glass). Nether and End blocks are not allowed!
- No Redstone: The contest focuses on aesthetics. No mechanisms, automation, redstone machines, or note blocks (except for decorative use) will be judged.
- Mobs: You may only use passive and neutral Overworld mobs (e.g., armadillo, chicken, frog, pig, snow golem, bee, iron golem, llama). Humanoid mobs (villagers, pillagers, witches) are strictly prohibited.
- What to avoid: Any logos, words, pixel art, banners, religious or political symbols, or replicas of real-world buildings.
What Are the Prizes?
Winners won't have anything to complain about. The judging stage consists of internal verification, and in early July (July 2–5, 2026) a community vote will take place.
Here's what you can win:
- 15 Semi-Finalists: 2 cinema tickets to the Minecraft movie.
- 3 Finalists: Private screening of the film (plus tickets).
- 1 Winner (Grand Prize): Their build appears in the film or end credits + private screening + 2 tickets!
How to Submit Your Build
Submissions are accepted only until June 7, 2026 at 11:59 P.M. PT. To participate, you'll need to prepare:
- A short video (15–30 seconds): Must include a 360-degree view of the build filmed in daylight. No shadows, shaders, night lighting, or music from outside the game. Upload the video to YouTube as "Unlisted." Your character must not be visible in the video.
- A screenshot: A clear front-facing image of the build, also taken in standard daylight.
- A short description: 2–3 sentences describing your concept.
Bonus: Free Cape from Twitch!
Alongside the contest, Minecraft is also giving away free capes! Simply watch any Twitch partner streamer streaming in the Minecraft category for at least 5 minutes before June 30, 2026. You'll receive a cape code directly on the platform and can redeem it on the Minecraft website.
